238 Sqn RAF are the custodians of the last SEPECAT Jaguars in RAF service .The squadron forms part of 1 School of Technical Training and uses the aircraft to simulate a fast jet sortie for the trainee technicians.
The aircraft are prepared, seen off and received at the return of the a sortie. The aircraft were maintained in running order to provide as realistic simulation as possible. The aircraft did not fly but were taxiable. On 31st Augusr 2016., the aircraft were taken out of service for this role ,although they will be retained as instructional airframes. To commemorate this a photo call was organised for photographers to capture the aircraft moving under they're own power for the last time.
